The Art Director will partner closely with the Creative Director and Head of Marketing and is responsible for all visual presentation aspects of the brand, from collaborative ideation through to final execution. Must be a highly creative individual with extremely strong executional skills, comfortable taking design projects from inception to completion, providing new ideas while?working within the brand ethos.
Roles / Responsibilities:
Offer still life photo direction & shot lists for in-house photographer to create product photography covering flats, details, and group shots that will be used on the website and for promotional purposes. Continually research and collect reference imagery to be used to elevate the product photography and come up with ways to create innovative, impactful imagery. Develop shoot concepts to be discussed with the team. Work with the head designer to pull looks together. Coordinate with the producer in order to have all clothes, props, etc. ready for the shoot day. Responsible for shot list and working with the photographer to make sure every item is covered. Make selects for all of the brand touchpoints, and come up with layouts and presentations for how each shoot will be presented. Manage final assets with Photographer’s team. Responsible for coming up with a weekly plan to be discussed with the team and then deliver final assets for the homepage site header, blog layout, blog cover, email, and instagram rollout. Work with website developer to ensure that the website presentation is the best it can be and that the customer experience is fluid and feels elevated. Occasional special need projects such as illustrations, animations, or graphic treatments in order to create engaging storytelling. Maintain brand strategy, identity, and consistency. File management for all creative assets.
5+ years experience in-house design and art direction Experience in the fashion and apparel industry Strong aesthetic and knowledge in the space Strong concept development and graphic design skills Proven ability to combine conceptual, creative and strategic thinking with tactical execution. Expert knowledge of platform capabilities and able to contribute new ideas. Detail oriented and organized Staying current with the latest and best ways to communicate to the consumer across all brand platforms Strong understanding of social media, can recommend ways for the brand to optimize content Can anticipate brand needs and can put together and present to the team in a clear and digestible manner Ability to effectively lead work on multiple projects in various phases under tight deadlines Photography and post-production proficiency Thorough understanding of the opportunities and limitations within the photography and design world An interest in clothing and a strong understanding of the brand and the market.
