Store Planning

Create and maintain store level plans including sales, margin and inventory Monitor store performance against plans and initiate corrective actions in case of any potential deviations Assortment management and execution to ensure stores have appropriate assortment mix (product/fit/sizes) to merchandise store in line with customer preference and store space Provide space brokering recommendations by store to maximize assortment and inventory productivity Provide reporting tools in support of store and field communications Guide in-season store assortment mix changes due to sales and inventory trends Influence optimal store space allocation based on store level selling patterns aligned with overarching merchandising strategies and adjacencies Support sales and productivity analysis for stores, programs and key fixtures Review market basket reporting to help influence adjacencies as it pertains to key categories or styles Measure productivity of key fixtures and determine optimal placement of product based on productivity Support new stores assortments and inventory, relocation and closings Support store by store planning of new product initiatives Support local promotions and events

Field Collaboration

Provide special interface to RM and DM field partners for inventory, assortment questions and business strategy insights Communication and Travel to identify store/market insights, inventory opportunities, identify assortment bias and solicit for assortment feedback, and build relationships Identify store specifics in market and gather qualitative feedback to provide context to the numbers Gather information about customer, demographics, neighborhoods, local competition and local opportunities Ensure store feedback and deliverables are shared with cross functional partners and actions are taken to achieve desired outcome Support Inventory Management function by filtering store feedback to determine where inventory opportunities exist and identifying how to action; educate field partners on inventory strategies Attend project meetings and provide required store support Act as main point of contact for stores to the Business Planning function

Inventory Management

Develop detailed by-store, by-category inventory targets which align with stretch targets determined by Finance Partner with Merchandise Planning and Inventory Allocation management team to develop most effective process for ensuring each store receives distorted inventory to target and appropriate preference in constraint situations Continually recommend target refinements and/or inventory management best practices which seek to minimize additional markdowns as a result of inventory distortion Ensure executive alignment to inventory approach monthly Perform pre-optimization profile and size curve analysis for new stores Ensure best-practice application continually supports stores


Skills & Requirements

Preferred Experience & Technical Proficiencies:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, statistics, operations, or supply chain areas An entrepreneurial mindset that includes a curiosity to improves business acumen 3+ years of multi-location inventory management experience Relevant experience in Merchandise/Demand/Space Planning, Finance, or Store Operations is a plus Excellent time management, leadership and decision-making skills Ability to think strategically by continuously improving overall business process Ability to manage execution by assigning responsibilities, delegating appropriately and removing obstacles Strong collaboration skills to negotiate effectively across organizational boundaries Ability to provide, explain and discuss information related to inventory management at the right level of detail and complexity for the target audience Maintain clear focus on client needs Build business strategies and plans Must possess project management and problem-solving capabilities Strong computer skills with ability to manipulate large amounts of date Must be able and willing to travel
