Director of Retail and Omnihannel
Advanced Contemporary Accessory Brand is looking for a Director of Retail, overseeing stores as well as buying, planning and merchandising!
Responsibilities:Collaborates with key cross-functional business partners to drive sales, enhance Brand innovation, and ensure long-term financial success; communicate customer feedback, promotion performance and overall customer experience to business partners. Work closely with Regional Director of Sales, Store Operations, Merchandising, Consumer Engagement, Visual Merchandising and Human Resources while supervising Buying, Merchandise Allocation and Store Communications team. Owns and manages retail operations and fulfillment with a customer-first mentality Analyzes key performance metrics and business trends and provides guidance to achieve goals and profitability targets; evaluates financial and business data into actionable insights to drive results Oversees development and implementation of ecommerce and retail stores open to buy and inventory strategies to achieve or exceed sales, expense, market share and profit goals Performs on-going analysis of status, strategies and outcomes of retail store and eCommerce business to implement strategic and operational execution of merchandise and inventory planning and allocation functions for Retail Stores and eCommerce businesses and delivery of financial results Partners with eCommerce lead and Regional Director of Sales to ensure the cohesive brand identity and merchant vision is represented in across all retail sales channels and consumer touchpoints Partners with finance to develop budget process and seasonal open to buy. Monitors sales by division/class/seasonality and executes timely implementation of markdowns and clearance strategies to sell through seasonally Develops timeline for promotional schedule, delivery times and exit strategies Travels stores and shops marketplaces to full understand brand position and opportunities
Essential Functions:Takes ownership and accountability for delivering results. Ability to work independently, but does not view Brick & Mortar Channel as silo. Partners with Global Merchandising, Planning, eCommerce and Field Leadership to align class and key item plans and leads Buying and Merchandise Planning & Allocations to ensure store attributes and ecommerce considerations are current, accurate, and aligned. Develops fiscally responsible budgets and consistent flow of merchandise to the stores and web Regularly communicates with eCommerce and Field Leadership to ensure cohesive, consistent and relevant representation in store merchandising, marketing and availability of key items Travels stores and markets to assess real estate, current and future store locations, opportunities as required. Monitors sales performance and inventory control within retail stores and eCommerce channel, and provides daily, monthly and annual reporting Manages allocated budget, monitors/tracks sku level performance to ensure optimal gross margin Develops and reviews standard operating procedures; policies and operational guidelines to ensure compliance across the retail field. Partners with regional director to monitor operations, satisfactory inventory levels, sales trends, customer service, and ensure regular audits are performed and that each location is held accountable for the results. Manages customer service activity to optimize sales performance and customer satisfaction Identifys trends and makes suggestions to improve and enhance retail performance to deliver sales and service goals. Ensures brand environment is impeccable at all times; partners with corporate teams for repairs, maintenance and I.T. Coaches and develops skills of all direct reports Facilitates cross-functional team communication between Merchandising, Product Management, Finance, eCommerce, Marketing and Retail Field.
Preferred Qualifications & Education:College degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience 10+ years in retail (premium / high-end in retail preferred) with a proven track record, progressive growth and increasing responsibility 5+ years of management experience; 2+ years in a field operations or multi-store operational role Previous supervisory experience and interaction with both Corporate and Field Teams Previous experience with buying, planning and allocation Previous responsibility for P&L, financially astute; ability to focus on contribution, not just top line sales Deep understanding of inventory reconciliation / cycle counts and Inventory Process Understanding of fashion retail landscape with the ability to successfully integrate cross functional teams Strong organizational and project management skills from conceptualization and implementation to follow up Management experience with team across multiple locations Excellent communication and analytical skills Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and retail math
