A fine linens and luxury home décor company is seeking a Digital Graphics Designer to create and oversee the creative direction of all digital (and some offline) assets, as well as the UI design for a high-growth, thriving ecommerce business. This is a new role within the organization and is a terrific opportunity for an ambitious designer to set the vision for this department.
The ideal candidate is able to bring forth a strong creative vision at the highest levels, but also roll up their sleeves to execute on multiple concurrent projects and deliver excellent results. This candidate will start by evaluating all existing assets, creating a digital visual handbook, and giving a consistent look and feel to the brand online. This handbook will be created by taking into consideration the overall brand guidelines combined with best practices in UX/UI design and historical performance.
The day to day will require this candidate to collaborate cross functionally with Ecommerce and Marketing and provide creative design solutions to business needs, including all email campaigns, display ads, social and homepage assets. S/he will also help bring to life business needs such as onsite shopping guides, gift guides and interactive content pages through the design of engaging layouts and functionality. Additionally, s/he will ideate and create wireframes of the UX/UI of new website features and functionality with simplicity and ease in mind.
Over time, this person will reimagine how we execute digitally by always pushing forward the creative vision while still maintaining the luxury, legacy branding of the company. This while also balancing the pragmatic side of driving forward sales through consumer-centric design. This designer must stay on top of current trends and mediums in the digital and creative space and apply these new mediums thoughtfully and appropriately.
This designer should also have hands on experience in offline channels such layout and design for direct mail, catalog/lookbooks, and packaging, and be able to prepare press-ready files for production.
This role reports into the VP of Ecommerce.
RESPONSIBILITIESCreate a digital handbook that takes into consideration company branding, best practices in UX/UI, and learnings from previous executions; ensure all assets and expressions are consistent and tell a coherent story Develop all assets to support digital marketing; be willing test and push the creative boundary while still upholding the brand’s core identity Partner with the Ecommerce team and our digital agency to research and design customer-centric UX/UI of new features and functionality Develop the layout and design of lookbooks, direct mail pieces and packaging; work with our printers to proof and see projects through to completion Assist with testing new channels and mediums for the company such as video content and interactive experiences
REQUIREMENTS3-5 years of solid graphic design experience with a demonstrated track record of delivering thoughtful, elevated and considered designs Self-motivated with high throughput of quality work with creativity, brand and CX always top of mind Hands on experience with photo editing, color correcting, video editing, typography and branding Deep knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator at a minimum Ability to self-manage and deliver multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and deadlines Bachelor’s degree or relevant education in visual communication or graphic design is required Interest in luxury products, home décor, fashion, art or lifestyle
