The Digital Director will play a leadership role across key accounts within the agency delivering valuable strategic insight and counsel to account leadership and client partners. They must be experienced in digital influencer, social media marketing and able to coordinate with agency PR teams to maximize campaigns and build out digital strategies/ influencer engagement to achieve digital amplification. The candidate will be able to bring innovating thinking to the table, while always looking for business growth opportunities. 

 

They will support the day to day business and must have a track record of consistently generating great results for brands through digital/social PR activations. The Digital Director will also be expected to have a good understanding of industry technologies and platforms as well as relevant points of interest and media landscape for their brands.  This position will work very closely with the Director, VP of Communications, Creative Strategist and Event Production team members to continually assess opportunities/revenue, areas of growth and new business.

 

The candidate should also be comfortable speaking in front of peers, internal leadership, client partners and conferences.  A successful candidate will have a track record of success in immersion into a client’s business, identifying opportunities for growth, new business and direct business results.

 

This person must have at least 7 years’ experience in digital marketing, with at least 3 years’ experience in a PR agency or in house leading key lines of client business, guiding social strategy and influencer marketing efforts.

 

Digital:

Have consistent face-time with the appropriate leadership on the brand side in an attempt to constantly identify ways for the team to improve and to secure organic digital growth for the agency Continue to evaluate and recommend how to improve upon existing capabilities and, specifically, identify potential solutions/alternative options when needed Amplify PR campaigns through the digital space leveraging influencers, social channels and engaging media Immerse yourself in client audiences’ digital and social behaviors, wants and needs in order to counsel the client about will or will not work Expected to be constantly looking for opportunities to build against the agency’s core capabilities. Help facilitate integration between PR teams within the agency and help lead that integration across respective accounts Continually identify opportunities to plan and present around pillar focuses (i.e., PR activations, branded content, social influencer, etc.) Educate the rest of the team on the vision and infuse a sense of passion around our focus areas to ensure the entire team has accountability for the PR and digital business plan Play a leading role in fostering a positive, energetic culture among us that uses our collective diversity in experience to unite and make the team stronger Proactively identify marketing opportunities for us and create opportunities, when appropriate Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to Ongoing strategic digital counsel for the account team/client Ongoing DSM (digital/social media) education of agency staff Constantly displaying a deep knowledge of their account team’s business needs and relevant industry trends (while looking at those trends through a strategic lens, long-term and short-term) Agency marketing Growth and managing/executing PR and digital initiatives against client initiatives Develop and execute influencer engagement strategies for existing and new clients

 

Organic Growth / New Business

Work hand in hand with leadership on both the digital and account side to identify opportunities for brand as well as new biz opportunities Spend significant time on a monthly basis, assessing what client partner needs/issues/potential issues are and proactively address, to ensure insight and counsel is on target Proactively identify opportunities for new PR/ digital/social media business In addition to creating new opportunities, consistently and proactively work closely with account leads to identify and create new opportunities to sell in wider agency offerings from production to PR support Continually leverage external relationships to identify and pursue new business prospects identified by our business development team When appropriate, play a key role in the development of new business proposals / presentations
