What you’ll do:
• Manage the financial close process and calendar and reduce the close timeline.
• Collaborate with all departments, owning accounting aspects of new process/system initiatives and contributing to process decisions to ensure accurate GAAP accounting records and efficient processes.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and related balance sheet account reconciliations for material reserves and balances, including inventory, gift cards, sales tax, and leases.
• Review monthly journal entries and related balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by staff and senior accountants.
• Perform a detailed review of expense accounts for proper accruals, coding, and accounting
• Execute and enhance credit card processor reconciliations.
• Manage the monthly sales tax filing process, overseeing external sales tax return preparers
• Accounting owner for company’s physical inventory counts, owning review/entry of results and ensuring accuracy of all adjustments.
• Take a leading role in adopting ASC 842 – Leases.
• Investigate reporting discrepancies / anomalies and communicate issues as they arise.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax preparers in coordinating the gathering of information for requests in an organized and timely manner.
• Continuously reassess policies & procedures with a focus on automation accounting systems and processes to automate, expand and improve month end close to help reduce the close timeline.
• Supervise and coach junior accounting staff for AR and general corporate accounting.
• Assist with additional ad hoc tasks, initiatives, and reporting.

What you’ll have:
• BS or BA in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience a plus
• At least 2+ years in a supervisory role and comfortable with coaching teams and reviewing work
• Experience in Apparel industry is highly desired, a mix of ecommerce, wholesale, and retail preferred
• Comfortable with new technology and competent with ERP systems, preferably Netsuite, and experience working with Shopify and/or Newstore or similar POS systems important

• Advanced Excel skills
